Happy Bandi Chhor Divas! For those wondering why Sikhs celebrate Bandi Chhor Divas and not Diwali – it’s because our reason for celebrating is entirely different.  Bandhi Chhor Divas pretty much means “a celebration for the release of the people” and refers to a moment in Sikh history when Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji was released from jail and fought for the release of fellow Hindu prisoners as well.  Pretty cool eh?  Want to learn more?  Check out this link: Bandi Chorr Divas

Also, just in time for for Bandhi Chhor Divas, Sikh political prisoner Daljit Singh Bittu was just released from jail 2 days ago, read more about it in a report from

Nabha (November 1, 2013): As per information available with the Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) Akali Dal Panch Pardhani leader Bhai Daljit Singh Bittu was released from Maximum security jail Nabha on November 1, 2013 at around 6 pm. Bhai Daljeet Singh was arrested on September 20, 2012 on under so-called preventive measures (107/51) but during his custody he was framed under Unlawful Activities Prevention Act.

Bhai Daljit Singh was granted bail by Punjab and Haryana High Court few days back, and in pursuant to High Court orders Bhai Daljit Singh was released from Nabha Jail.

    What the fuck is Bandi Chor? Even our Gurus called it Diwali, you fucking losers are so ashamed of your own history your making up new terms for historical holidays. If it wasnt supposed to be called Diwali, the Gurus would not have came out on Diwali… They controlled their life, no one else. And Pehli Patshahi named his son Laxmi…. damn right its DIWALI, not some fucking RECENT CONCOCTION CALLED BANDI CHOR SALAY KHALISTANI FUDU
