Bhindranwale Bhangra: A New Genre of Consciousness?

AnonSingh May 26, 2010 11 Comments

We’ve heard the Dhadi/Kavishri and Dharmik Geets on Sant Ji, but we’ve never heard what sounds like a fully fledged Bhangra track.  We’ve all been fed up at one point or another about the lyrical content of Bhangra music, so now that we’ve seen it transition into something conscious are we willing to support it?  Share your thoughts!

its pretty good… the black guy kinda messes it up with his weird talk in the middle and its up to the punjabi youth today … either way their giving sant ji exposure and will know the truth when they look into the story, after listening to the song.

This is retarded. What is he singing? He’s a “fan of Bhindranwale”. Why don’t we all understand Sikhi first, but if this will evoke the youth and encourage them to understand Sikhi then it is positive. Otherwise we’re just selling our faith to sell a few records, no different then the singers before him.

Above is a sample of struggling artists using sikhi to sell records.
Below is portraying and painting a true picture, great things.

I would prefer music that is more intellectual and meaningful, the topic is good but the music video sucks and the song is kind of corny but its better then most bhangra songs we here these days, which are usually about really stupid things like “how the train stops when it sees a pretty girl” or those daler mendhi & jazzy bains nonsense songs. And the people in the background are annoying, and does anyone even understand what that bizzare rapper is saying….sant jarnal singh bhindranwale’s picture in the same video with those weird rapper wannabes just doesnt fit in.

This track isnt all that…it might help get the youth to look into sikhi history but the song isnt even that good. and the video is soo……………

I did the Rap in this Track, read carefully what I said(even the Singer didn’t know this):

“Check out the Poll, these Shity guys ain’t got no roll
as a whole they pretend to be fair troll
Is is all…have a look at this guy singing
didn’t deserve to say this, I want his head banging”

“I did this track just cuz I had to do it
everybody knows me ain’t gotta write shit
wrote this one so he don’t understand
U got me man..its my Rap plan”

M nt a bizzare Rapper (as mentioned in earlier comments)
and I knew Rap wouldn’t fit in this track but due to some reasons I had to do it :(

If my part hurt you then I’m Sorry, I know it was my bad in some way or the other.
